Authorisation Terms

This document sits alongside, not instead of, our Terms & Conditions, which continue to govern fees, liability, and the rest of our engagement with you. This page covers only the specific authority you're giving us to act as your tax agent with Irish Revenue.

1. What You're Authorising

By ticking this box and providing your typed signature, you authorise Irish Tax Mate to act as your registered tax agent with Irish Revenue, for the specific service you've engaged with us. Depending on that service, this may include:

• Linking to your record with Revenue through Revenue's own agent-linking process;
• Viewing the tax details relevant to the matter you've engaged us for;
• Preparing and submitting tax returns, claims, or reliefs on your behalf;
• Corresponding with Revenue about that matter, and receiving related notices.

2. What This Does Not Authorise

This authorisation is limited to the matter you've engaged us for. It does not give us authority to:

• Act on any tax matter outside the scope of your engagement with us;
• Make decisions that require your separate instruction — we will always confirm significant steps, like a return ready for submission, with you first;
• Handle any financial transaction beyond submitting the agreed return or claim on your behalf.

3. How We Use This Authorisation

Once you've signed, we submit the relevant notification to Revenue to link as your agent. This is an administrative step on Revenue's system and doesn't happen instantly — we'll let you know once the link is confirmed. Until it is, we may not yet be able to view your Revenue record or act on your behalf with them.

4. How Long This Lasts, and How to Revoke It

This authorisation remains in place until the matter you've engaged us for is complete, or until you revoke it in writing (an email to hello@irishtaxmate.ie is enough). If you revoke it:

• We will notify Revenue to remove the agent link;
• This doesn't cancel or refund any work already completed, or fees already due for that work;
• It doesn't automatically end our wider engagement under our Terms & Conditions — if you want to end that too, let us know separately.
