Built by expats, for expats living in Ireland
We're a small team of ACCA and CPA-qualified tax advisors who moved to Ireland too. We know how confusing Revenue can feel when English isn't the first language you argue with tax forms in — so we translate it.
Registered with Irish Revenue
A registered Irish tax agent, filing everything on your Revenue account.
Plain-English, always
No jargon, no Revenue-speak. Just clear answers about what you owe or what you're owed.
No refund, no fee
Every Tax Back review is on us until we find you money. Simple as that.
Our story
We started Irish Tax Mate because every expat we knew — engineers, designers, nurses, contractors — had the same experience with Revenue: opaque emails, missed refunds, and Irish tax advisors who assumed you already knew how PAYE and USC worked.
We built the service we wished existed when we landed: fixed prices you can see before you commit, a real human who answers your questions in plain English, and a promise that we'll never let you leave money on the table.
Today we work with expats from over 30 countries — helping them file returns, claim refunds, review CGT, and stop dreading brown envelopes from Revenue.
How working with us actually goes
1. You tell us the basics
Ten minutes online: who you are, where you have worked, and what years you want reviewed. No documents, no payslips, no Revenue login needed at this stage.
2. We pull your Revenue record
As a registered Irish tax agent we can see your employment history, credits and previous returns directly on Revenue's systems — which is how we spot the credits you never claimed.
3. We tell you the number before you pay
You get a written summary of what you are owed, or what you owe, plus the fixed fee. If there is no refund to claim on a Tax Back review, there is no fee.
4. We file and Revenue pays you
Refunds land in your own bank account directly from Revenue, usually within 5 working days of the return being processed. We never hold client money.
What we do — and what we don't
We handle PAYE reviews and four-year refund claims, Form 11 and Form 12 returns, rental income, Capital Gains Tax on shares and crypto, redundancy calculations, arrival and departure years including Split Year Treatment, and the credits most expats miss — rent, medical expenses, remote working relief and flat rate expenses.
We do not do aggressive tax planning, offshore structures, or anything that would put your Revenue record at risk. Everything we file is something we would be happy to explain to Revenue line by line, because sooner or later that is exactly what happens.
We are not a refund-chasing call centre either. You get one advisor who knows your file, answers in plain English, and tells you when the answer is "you don't actually need us for this".
Who we work with
Most of our clients arrived in Ireland in the last ten years: engineers and tech workers in Dublin and Cork, nurses and healthcare staff across the HSE, hospitality and retail workers, contractors on Form 11, and people heading home again who want their final-year refund sorted before they go.
If you want to see how Irish tax works for your own country's situation, we keep a set of country-by-country guides — Poland, India, Brazil, the Philippines, Romania, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Nigeria, Ukraine, South Africa, the UK and the US.
